NHS Digital Academy

Plans are underway to create a virtual organisation that will provide a unique training and development opportunity for Chief Clinical Information Officers (CCIOs), Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and aspirant leaders across the country. The Academy is being established in response to the Wachter Review5. Cohorts will receive up to 12 months part-time learning, with new cohorts commencing every 6 months, and each cohort involving up to 50 delegates (up to 300 by 2021). The curriculum will include, health informatics, systems design, clinical decision support, data interventions for service improvement, health information technology implementation, management and leadership. The delivery contract is likely to be worth £6m.
